Important note: during this trip we will be on foot (about 5 km) so it is worth getting some proper shoes.

From the apartment we go by car to this point:

and after about 40 minutes we are there.

Right in front of the parking lot, we pass the local Casa Nauraleza cafe - a must-see on the route 😊. The cafe is open only until 17 (closed on Mondays).

From the parking lot, we take a well-marked path along the Barranco de las Penitas gorge.

and after walking about 1km, we reach the old dam:

We continue along the path of the gorge to reach the white hermitage of Ermita de la Peña after a few hundred meters.

After another several hundred meters, we come to the intersection of the Barranco de las Penitas and Barranco del Rodeo ravines - here is the town of Buen Paso.

An important landmark is an abandoned house:

This place looks like this on google maps:

The red color is the route we came to see, the yellow color is the route to the rock arch.

This route is quite well marked (at least at the beginning).

The rock arch itself is at this point:

and it looks like this:

And that's the end of the tour.

Its total length is about 2.5-3 km. It shouldn't take us more than 1-1.5 hours ONE WAY.

We go back the same way we came.

AN ALTERNATIVE option to visit these attractions is the drive to the town of Buen Paso.

Go by car to this point:

We pass it and at the end of the road (about 100m behind this point) you can leave the car in the parking lot.

From the parking lot, walk north to the "abandoned house".

From this point, take the route to the rock arch OR along the Barranco de las Penitas gorge. This option is a bit longer (if you want to visit both attractions) but it allows you, for example, to go only to the rock arch.
